Dustbin lids, brooms, matchboxes and lighters will continue to make music at the Ambassadors Theatre until 5 June 2016 after long-running hit Stomp announced an extension to its booking period.

Now in its 13th year in the West End, the much-loved percussion extravaganza sees a talented cast of performers entertain audiences with a universal language of rhythm, theatre, comedy and dance.

The Olivier Award-winning production, which had been booking until December 2015, opened in the capital in 1994, starting life at Islington’s Sadler’s Wells before transferring to the Vaudeville Theatre and, later, to its current and long-standing West End home.

Stomp’s success didn’t stop there. Since its premiere, the show has played more than 20,000 performances to more than 12 million people in an incredible 53 countries worldwide, including audiences at the Oscars and the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

Adding to show’s staggering statistics, the crash, bang and walloping hit has consumed more than 10,000 match boxes, 9,000 bin lids, 13,500 brooms and 18,000 drumsticks in the name of percussion.

Stomp will celebrate its 13th birthday in the West End on 11 May, when it is due to hold a gala night for teenagers.
