Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved rock musical Starlight Express will return to London for three concert-style workshop performances at The Other Palace.
Integrating audience reaction and feedback into the process of revisiting the classic show, Andrew and members of his original creative team will present performances on Thursday 14, Friday 15 and Saturday 16 September at 7.30pm.
Collaborating again on the show, its creatives, cast and musicians will focus on fine tuning the score and the lyrics for a week before the public showings, including in between evening performances.
Starlight Express, which sees a child’s train set magically come to life, originally opened in the West End in 1984 where it ran for over 7000 performances, becoming the seventh longest-running musical in Theatreland history.
It continues to run in a purpose built venue in Bochum, Germany where more than 15 million people have seen it. The Bochum production celebrates its 30th anniversary next year.
All tickets are priced £25 and go on sale through The Other Palace’s website.
