Following The Snail And The Whale’s run at the St James Theatre last year, Tall Stories’ production of The Snow Dragon will swoop into the Victoria venue this festive season.
Brought to the stage by the company behind much-loved family hits including The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child, The Snow Dragon will play at the St James Theatre from 9 December to 4 January.
Written by Tall Stories’ co-Artistic Director Toby Mitchell, the story follows young goat Billy as he discovers all about the legendary title character who delivers goodies on New Year’s Eve. He only has until the coming night before the gift-bearing creature arrives, but when Billy bumps into a pack of wolves in the woods, New Year’s Day and the prospect of presents seems a long way off.
Audiences aged three and older will have to join Billy on his magical musical journey at the St James Theatre later this year to discover whether or not he’s eventually rewarded by the Snow Dragon.
Founded by Mitchell and Olivier Jacobs, Tall Stories has been entertaining families with its popular adaptations of timeless children’s stories for more than a decade. In 2012 the company received an Olivier Award nomination for its musical take on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s bestselling picture book Room On The Broom.
