Improvised musical troupe Showstopper! is to play three late night performances at the Criterion theatre in November as part of the Criterion Presents series.
Showstopper!, which is currently enjoying a return residency at the Ambassadors theatre to 12 October, will play at 22:30 on 4, 11 and 18 November.
Improvising on the hoof, the troupe of Showstopper! actors create a new musical every performance inspired by suggestions from the audience. The show recently enjoyed its third Edinburgh Festival residency and made its West End debut earlier this year before returning in September.
The dates at the Criterion theatre – home to comedy The 39 Steps – form part of Criterion Presents, a series of events including live lunchtime interviews with famous theatrical faces, starting with Jerusalem actor Mark Rylance on 10 November, review show Critics at the Cri, in which theatre critics discuss recent shows (4 November), and a special Bookslam (25 November).
