Kids Week has announced the shows that will be offering free tickets to children this August and, with more than 40 top London shows taking part from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory to The Gruffalo, it’s a whopper of a line-up.

In its 18th year Kids Week now barely requires introduction, but for newbies to the annual promotion, the hugely popular promotion is a month long celebration of family theatregoing that offers a free children’s ticket with every adult ticket purchased to participating shows, plus up to two further children’s tickets at half-price.

On top of making theatregoing that much more accessible, Kids Week also runs an incredible programme of interactive workshops, revealing post-show Q&As and exclusive events alongside the ticket offer.

This year families will be able to choose from a huge range of West End favourites and new London productions.

For the littlest theatregoers aged three and up, offerings include Aliens Love Underpants, The Gruffalo and the newly announced musical The Three Little Pigs on offer.

For slightly older children aged five plus, the line-up includes the hugely popular The Railway Children, multi Olivier Award-winning The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, hit musicals Mamma Mia!, Les Misérables and Wicked, as well as long-running plays War Horse and The 39 Steps.

Tickets are available for children aged up to 16 and there are two age categories catering for older children. Shows classed as PG include new musical Bend It Like Beckham, the David Suchet-led The Importance Of Being Earnest, the hit Memphis The Musical and this year’s Best New Musical Olivier Award winner Sunny Afternoon. For 15+ there’s also page to stage hit 1984, Greenday musical American Idiot, the popular Jersey Boys and Miss Saigon, and the Stephen Merchant-led The Mentalists.

One of Kids Week’s most unique and much-loved features is its packed schedule of workshops and events running alongside the month of family theatregoing that truly offer young theatregoers the chance to experience the magic of the stage. This year’s programme offers everything from storytelling with I Believe In Unicorns to a chance to meet the cast of The Mousetrap, a dance lesson with Jersey Boys to a rare opportunity to learn some of Wicked’s best kept secrets.

Tickets for this year’s Kids Week go on sale on 16 June at www.kidsweek.co.uk or via the dedicated ticket hotline on 0844 248 5151 (calls cost 7ppm plus your phone company’s access charge) and, as ever, there are no postage or booking fees to pay.
