School Of Rock enrols a new cast

There may only be a week of school left for most youngsters in the UK, but for the kids of School Of Rock, term is just beginning. A brand new cast has just been announced for the Olivier Award-winning musical that’s moving into its third year in the West End.

Taking the lead in the band and the cast is Craig Gallivan as Dewey Finn from 22 August 2018. Joining Craig will be Laura Tebbutt will play Rosalie Mullins, Alan Pearson will be Ned Schneebly, Michelle Francis will be Patty DiMarco, and Jake Sharp will play Dewey Finn for certain performances. The remaining adult cast is made up of John Addison, Nick Butcher, Rob Falconer, Martina Isibor, Claudia Kariuki, Jessica Louise Parkinson, Richard Morse, Andy Rees, Hannah Stratton, Alex Tomkins, and James Wolstenholme with swings Paul Kemble, Jessica Kirton, Billy Mitchell, Catherine Morris and Andy Prosser.

In addition to the new adult cast, there will be three teams of twelve kids, who make up Dewey’s band and play live at every performance.

It was also announced that an additional 350,000 tickets have been released today which can be booked up to 20 October 2019.

Based on the 2003 film starring Jack Black, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School Of Rock tells the story of Dewey Finn – a wannabe rock star who’s struggling to pay his rent. In a moment of desperation, he pretends to be his roommate and takes a job as a substitute teacher in a prestigious prep school. And when Dewey witnesses the musical talent of the kids, the usual lessons go out the window and he trains them up to take part in The Battle Of The Bands competition. But, can he get away with it without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?
