Liz Robertson and Joseph Millson have joined the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much anticipated musical Love Never Dies, starring alongside previously confirmed cast members Sierra Boggess, Ramin Karimloo and Summer Strallen.
Love Never Dies, which opens at the Adelphi theatre on 9 March (after previews from 20 February), follows on from Lloyd Webber’s multi-award winning production The Phantom Of The Opera, picking up the story 10 years later. From Paris, the tale crosses the Atlantic to America where the Phantom (Karimloo) has found success at the fairgrounds of New York’s Coney Island, but still yearns for the love of his life, singer Christine Daaé (Boggess).
Millson will play Raoul, Christine’s love from The Phantom Of The Opera who is now her husband. The actor is currently starring in the Almeida theatre’s Judgment Day, and will be seen next month in comedy The Priory at the Royal Court. His other numerous stage credits include Every Good Boy Deserves Favour and Pillars Of The Community at the National theatre and Much Ado About Nothing, House Of Desires and The Dog In The Manger for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Robertson is to take on the role of Madame Giry, mother of Meg (Strallen) and ballet mistress at the Phantom’s old haunt the Opéra Populaire. This will be Robertson’s second time in the role, having spent two years playing the choreographer at Her Majesty’s theatre in The Phantom Of The Opera. The actress is currently performing as Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray at the Shaftesbury theatre. A seasoned musical theatre actress, her other London credits include My Fair Lady – for which was Laurence Olivier Award nominated – Killing Jessica at the Savoy, the Palace theatre’s Song And Dance and Kern Goes To Hollywood at the Donmar Warehouse and later on Broadway.
Love Never Dies is currently booking until 23 October 2010.
