In rehearsal: Jessica Barden, Janie Dee & more in Pinter Four

The magnificent Pinter celebration goes on. The Pinter At The Pinter season has already gone down a storm at the Harold Pinter Theatre, and stars including Tom Hiddleston, Kit Harrington, David Suchet, Hayley Squires, Russell Tovey, Antony Sher and Maggie Steed have already performed much of the revered playwright’s shorter material.

Performances of Pinter Three (Landscape/A Kind Of Alaska) begin this week, starring the likes of Tamsin Greig, Keith Allen and Lee Evans. And preparations for Pinter Four – comprising Moonlight and Night School, with Jessica Barden, Janie Dee and more – are well underway, ahead of performances commencing next week.

The season truly is proving a fitting tribute to mark the 10th anniversary of the revered playwright’s death, all presented by a world-class cast, many of whom were Harold Pinter’s friends and frequent collaborators.

The brutality of family life and the subjectivity of memory are explored in the emotionally raw and richly funny Moonlight, directed by Olivier Award winner Lyndsey Turner, in which the past haunts the dark, lonely recesses of a dying father’s bedroom.

An East End criminal returns home from prison to find his room has been occupied by a mysterious woman with a secret. Set in the sweaty nightclubs and claustrophobic boarding houses of 1960s London, this is a rare opportunity to see the brilliantly witty and vivid Night School, directed by the inventive young director, Ed Stambollouian.
