Fans of the perky pink show Legally Blonde The Musical will be bending and snapping with delight at the news that the London production will release a cast recording this summer.
The album, recorded live at the Savoy theatre, where Legally Blonde The Musical opened early this year, features the show’s original cast, including Sheridan Smith, Duncan James, Jill Halfpenny, Peter Davison and Alex Gaumond. It will be available from 16 August.
Legally Blonde The Musical is based on the hit Reese Witherspoon film and tells the story of homecoming queen Elle Woods who, when dumped by her boyfriend for someone serious, hits the books and heads for Harvard Law, proving along the way that being true to yourself never goes out of style.
The Jerry Mitchell-directed show, which also stars reality TV graduates Aoife Mulholland (How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?) and Susan McFadden (Grease Is The Word), is to change its performance schedule this autumn. From 5 September, Sunday performances will be dropped, with a Tuesday evening performance added from 14 September.
