Flying into London early next year is Come From Away, and with it comes an exciting cast. Today it’s been announced that Wicked legend Rachel Tucker will make her West End return to star in the long-awaited premiere of the Tony Away-winning show. With her, she brings a talented crew of actors who will bring the true story to life.
Telling the remarkable tale of 7,000 stranded air passengers during the wake of 9/11, and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them, will be Jenna Boyd (playing Beulah and others), Nathanael Campbell (playing Bob and others), Clive Carter (playing Claude and others), Mary Doherty (playing Bonnie and others), Robert Hands (playing Nick, Doug and others), Helen Hobson (playing Diane and others), Jonathan Andrew Hume (playing Kevin J, Ali and others), Harry Morrison (playing Oz and others), Emma Salvo (playing Janice and others), David Shannon (playing Kevin T, Garth and others), and Cat Simmons (playing Hannah and others) in addition to Rachel Tucker (playing Beverley, Annette and others). Mark Dugdale, Bob Harms, Kiara Jay, Kirsty Malpass, Tania Mathurin, Alexander McMorran, Brandon Lee Sears and Jennifer Tierney will for the ensemble cast.
The joyous new musical recounts of how the residents of Gander, Newfoundland welcomed the passengers of planes from around the world after the tragedy of 9/11 hit New York. Despite clashing cultures, fear and tensions running high, the uneasiness felt in the small town turned into trust and lifelong friendships were formed.
Earning widespread critical and audience acclaim, the multi-award-winning musical continues to have sold-out, record-breaking performances on Broadway, and in Canada. A 60-city North American Tour recently launched in Seattle, an Australian production is confirmed for summer 2019, and a feature film adaptation is in the works.
The West End production will open at the Phoenix Theatre from 30 January 2019.
