Acclaimed interactive theatre company Punchdrunk has teamed up with the National Maritime Museum to create a theatrical exhibit for six to 12-year-olds and their families.
Against Captain’s Orders: A Journey Into The Uncharted, which will run from 28 March, draws inspiration from the famous Greenwich museum’s wealth of historical artefacts and intriguing stories to take families on an adventurous journey.
The first collaboration of its kind, visitors will become members of a real life crew who will have to work together to navigate their way through the exhibition, with the company intriguingly promising that anyone brave enough to get on board “will scarcely believe what will happen next”.
Against Captain’s Orders: A Journey Into The Uncharted is the latest work from the immersive theatremaker’s Enrichment team, a branch of Punchdrunk created to bring its imaginative and creative work to young people, schools and communities.
The theatrical exhibit follows Punchdrunk’s recent success with The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable, which was seen by more than 200,000 people during its London run.
