It’s a miracle that the cast make it through each performance, such is the accident-prone nature of their characters. But The Play That Goes Wrong is set to go wronger for longer, having announced a new booking period until 3 May 2020.
The Play That Goes Wrong was the newly-formed Mischief Theatre Company’s flagship London show, with only four paying customers at the first performance. But ever since, it’s moved to the West End’s Duchess Theatre; claimed Olivier and Tony Awards (including Best New Comedy at the 2015 Oliviers); and spawned sequels in Peter Pan Goes Wrong and the upcoming Magic Goes Wrong.
What’s more, The Play That Goes Wrong has toured the UK and internationally, and made the brilliant Mischief Theatre household names, if their upcoming year-long Vaudeville Theatre residency and BBC television series is anything to go by.
The Play That Goes Wrong has been playing at the Duchess Theatre since September 2014, and will celebrate its fifth West End birthday on 3 September of this year. So if you’ve yet to catch the disaster-class of a hilarious comedy, then you’ll have plenty more opportunities to do so.
