One-woman show Catwalk Confidential, the memoir of a former model, comes to the Arts theatre from 4 September, immediately following its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Festival.

Catwalk Confidential is written by and stars former supermodel Robyn Peterson, who was spotted by Valentino on a Florida beach as a teenager and went on to make her name modelling for designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent and Kenzo during the 1970s.

Part fairytale, part memoir, part romance, the show tells the story of 16-year-old Robyn, fresh from Miami, who gets caught up in the world of high fashion in Paris in the early 1970s. Plunged into a whirlwind life of glamour, sex and drugs, Robyn discovers there is one thing to fear above all else – age – and that there is always a younger girl waiting to step into your shoes.

After her modelling career ended, Peterson turned to acting and has accumulated screen credits including Pretty Woman, LA Law, My Father The Hero, Blood And Wine, View From The Top and The Sopranos. She has previously appeared on stage in Boston, New York and Los Angeles, where Catwalk Confidential premiered.

Catwalk Confidential, which plays at the Edinburgh Festival until 30 August, opens in London on 9 September, after previews from 4 September, and plays until 3 October.

Currently at the Arts theatre are Naked Boys Singing and F***ing Men, which run until 30 August.
