What everybody’s saying about Arinzé Kene’s Misty

Following a sold-out run at the Bush Theatre earlier this year, Misty by Arinzé Kene has transferred to Trafalgar Studios for a limited six week run. It’s a one-man show unlike any other – and one you simply have to catch!

Regardless of whether you can personally identify with writer and performer Arinzé Kene or with his storytelling and themes, as part of the audience at the Trafalgar Studios you will be collectively charmed and enthralled by him and Misty.

It’s a fascinating insight into this young man’s consciousness. His words and lyrics are combined with catchy, pulsating beats through original music, performed live on stage by the hugely talented musicians Shiloh Coke and Adrian McLeod.

This well-structured and honest production is undeniably thought-provoking. The audience witnesses his personal struggle as an actor/writer, torn between wanting to explore his artistic freedom and yet still live up to the responsibilities he feels weigh on him as a young black man in Hackney, London.

Arinzé is a multi-talented writer, actor and performer. Misty is a beautifully blended concoction of music, poetry, song, acting, comedy, rap and physical theatre. And yes, he’s amazing at all of them!

Don’t just take our word for it, here’s a snippet of what is being said on social media:

Misty is booking at Trafalgar Studios until 20 October.
