It’s the show that’s had West End audiences hooked on the fate of a coin toss each night. But the one thing that’s for sure: Mary Stuart has once again proven a spectacular London theatre hit.

Following a critically acclaimed, sold-out season at the Almeida Theatre in 2016-17, Robert Icke’s new adaptation of Mary Stuart has transferred to the Duke of York’s Theatre in London’s West End. And following another brilliant press night, the cast and creatives were fittingly enjoying yet more plaudits – check out what happened when we spoke to them below.

Two queens. One in power. One in prison. It’s all in the execution. Friedrich Schiller’s political tragedy Mary Stuart takes us behind the scenes of some of British history’s most crucial days.

Playing both Elizabeth I and Mary Stuart, Juliet Stevenson (Hamlet) and Lia Williams (Oresteia) trade the play’s central roles, decided at each performance by the toss of a coin. They reprise their roles from the show’s previous run.

Book your Mary Stuart tickets today! The show is also currently participating in our New Year Sale.
