A comic hit on both sides of the Atlantic, One Man, Two Guvnors will keep audiences laughing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket even longer, as it has just extended its booking period until 31 August 2013, releasing a further 200,000 tickets.
Richard Bean’s tale of a hungry sacked skiffle band member, who takes on two jobs working for two gangsters who have their own secrets and then has to keep them apart, was first seen at the National Theatre in 2011, with Gavin And Stacey writer and star James Corden leading the cast.
The overwhelmingly popular production transferred to the West End last November, before the original cast headed to Broadway to recreate the play’s success in the US, while a new cast, led by original understudy Owain Arthur, continued to keep London audiences laughing.
Arthur continues to play the loveable Francis Henshall in a cast that also includes I’d Do Anything winner Jodie Prenger, Primeval star Ben Mansfield and comics Phil Cornwell and Rhona Croker. They will be joined, from 19 November, by original cast member Tom Edden, who returns to reprise his role as Alfie the waiter.
