Families are invited to join the Octonauts on a theatrical underwater adventure when a brand new stage adaptation of the CBeebies series comes to venues across the capital from next month.
Octonauts And The Deep Sea Volcano Adventure will stop off at venues including the New Wimbledon Theatre, Hackney Empire and Richmond Theatre as part of its UK tour, which takes place from October to July.
Suitable for children aged three and older, the production follows the entire Octonauts crew, led by intrepid explorer Captain Barnacles, Lieutenant Kwazii and Medic Peso, as they set off on an exciting quest to visit the world under the sea.
Featuring music by BAFTA-winning composer Mani Svavarsson, the full-length family show is adapted and directed by Richard Lewis, who also adapted the Peppa Pig stage shows that have entertained children in the West End in recent years.
Talking about the new production, Lewis said: “Octonauts is all about adventure and exploration which offers up a whole host of possibilities in a live environment. From the colourful characters and fantastic underwater setting to the amazing octopod where the Octonauts live, there’s great scope for a really unique, interactive theatre experience. We can’t wait to take fans on an adventure like never before.”
Families have a number of opportunities to catch Octonauts And The Deep Sea Volcano Adventure as it travels in and around London. The first venue within easy reach of the capital is Croydon’s Fairfield Halls, where the show will play on 29 and 30 October. Following that it will visit Guildford’s G Live (5 and 6 November), the Beck Theatre (24 and 25 January), Watford Colosseum (18 and 19 February), Richmond Theatre (28 February and 1 March), the New Wimbledon Theatre (2 and 3 May) and Hackney Empire (6 and 7 June).
