Multi-award-winning performer Caroline O’Connor is to dazzle London audiences this autumn with a limited run of her one-woman show Caroline O’Connor: The Showgirl Within.

Playing at the Garrick theatre from 27 September to 3 October, in Caroline O’Connor: The Showgirl Within the singer, dancer and actress is supported by dancers and an on-stage band to perform a selection of songs ranging from musical theatre anthems to the classic tunes that have shaped her career.

The production is directed by the team of Michael Gracey and Ashley Wallen who between them have shaped the creative direction and choreography of stars including Will Young, Alesha Dixon, Sugababes and Kylie Minogue.

Born in Oldham, but raised in Australia, O’Connor has received Laurence Olivier Award nominations for both Best Actress in a Musical (Mack And Mabel) and Best Actress in a Play (Bombshells). She has appeared as both Velma Kelly (Broadway) and Roxie Hart (London) in the hit musical Chicago, played the title role in Piaf and portrayed Judy Garland in Peter Quilter’s play End Of The Rainbow. She has also been seen on screen in the films De-Lovely and Moulin Rouge, in which she played Nini-Legs-In-The-Air.

Caroline O’Connor: The Showgirl Within is the second one-woman cabaret to be announced for the Garrick theatre this autumn, following Lynda Carter: At Last, in which the former Wonder Woman actress will perform songs from her new album.

The cabarets play at the London venue between the closure of David Essex musical All The Fun Of The Fair and the opening of JB Priestley’s comedy When We Are Married.
