Amy Nuttall joins the cast of hit comedy Boeing-Boeing from 14 May. The former Emmerdale star, who was last seen in the West End playing Sarah Brown in Guys And Dolls, follows Tamzin Outhwaite as TWA stewardess Gloria. This announcement follows the news that Patricia Hodge will join the cast in the role of housekeeper Bertha from 30 April.
Nuttall rose to fame playing Chloe Atkinson in rural soap opera Emmerdale between 2000 and 2004. On leaving the show she recorded a classical album that received much acclaim and secured her a nomination for a Classical Brit Award in 2005. Nuttall’s first experience of stage work came at the age of 16, when she joined the touring production of The Phantom Of The Opera as understudy for Christine. More recently she led the cast of My Fair Lady’s touring production before playing opposite Patrick Swayze and Don Johnson in Guys And Dolls.
Boeing-Boeing, which opened at the Comedy in February, is written by Marc Camoletti and translated by Beverley Cross. It tells of architect Bernard who manages to balance having three air stewardess fiancées. All goes well until flights are rescheduled, delayed and Boeing introduces a new faster jet. Roger Allam, Mark Rylance, Michelle Gomez and Daisy Beaumont complete the cast.
Boeing-Boeing is currently booking until 20 October.
