Ross Noble and Dylan Moran are to continue the recent trend for Shaftesbury Avenue stand-up comedy when they bring their shows to the Apollo theatre this autumn.
Noble’s current show Things runs at the venue from 14 September until 24 October, when it is followed by Moran’s What It Is, which runs from 26 October until 5 December.
Voted one of the top 10 stand up comics of all time by Channel 4 viewers, Noble is the king of rambling improvisation, letting his mind wander like a lost child in a confusing, bemusing world. His current show doesn’t narrow down his boundaries too much, as it concerns things; big things and small things, things that have happened to him and things that have happened to other people.
The often angry Moran has a reputation for ranting in his unpredictable and often bizarre shows. The star of TV show Black Books, he was the youngest winner of the Perrier Award when he collected the highest accolade in comedy in 1996 aged 24.
Noble and Moran follow comedians Eddie Izzard and Bill Bailey, who staged their stand up shows on Shaftesbury Avenue in autumn 2008, and Rob Brydon, who is currently performing at the Apollo theatre.
