From Monday 22 July, I guess they’ll try Defying Gravity! Nikki Bentley and Helen Woolf will lead the new London cast of Wicked as Elphaba and Glinda respectively at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.
Nikki and Helen are well versed in the ways of Oz, having previously starred as the leading duo in Wicked’s UK & Ireland tour. They’ll be joined in the new Wicked London cast by the previously announced Alistair Brammer as Fiyero; Kim Ismay (a fellow member of the touring cast) as Madame Morrible, Idriss Kargbo (returning to the show until Saturday 10 November) as Boq, Carina Gillespie as Nessarose (having previously played the role on tour), and newcomers Simeon Truby (as Doctor Dillamond), Lisa-Anne Wood (Standby for Glinda) and Natasha Ferguson (maternity cover for Nessarose).
Andy Hockley will continue as The Wizard, and Laura Pick continues as Standby for Glinda. The ensemble will comprise Chanelle Anthony, Meg Astin, Rebecca Botterill, Michael Colbourne, Lewis Easter, Nolan Edwards, Kerry Enright, Chris George, Rebecca Gilliland, Lucie Horsfall, Nicole Lupino, Maggie Lynne, Stuart Maciver, Carl Man, Rhidian Marc, Joanna Sawyer, Scott Sutcliffe, Genevieve Taylor, Grant Thresh, James Titchener, Libby Watts, Bryony Whitfield, Chad Wilder, Dickie Wood, Chiarina Woodall and Tom Woollaston.
A fond farewell will be in the offing for current stars Alice Fearn, Sophie Evans, David Witts, Melanie La Barrie, Chris Jarman, Rosa O’Reilly and Jack Lansbury, when they play their final performances on Saturday 20 July.
