Daniela Nardini has joined the previously announced Rachel Weisz, Ruth Wilson, Barnaby Kay, Elliot Cowan and Jack Ashton in the forthcoming Donmar Warehouse production of A Streetcar Named Desire.
The full cast also includes Charles Daish, Judy Hepburn, Gary Milner and Luke Rutherford.
Nardini, who plays nosy landlady Eunice Hubbell, is probably best known for playing Anna Forbes in seminal 90s TV drama This Life. On screen, her credits also include Jimmy McGovern’s Gunpowder, Treason And Plot, crime drama Sirens and Edinburgh Festival comedy Festival. On stage she has appeared in Etta Jenks (Finborough theatre), Top Girls (Glasgow Citizens’ theatre) and Camille (Lyric Hammersmith).
Both Hepburn and Milner make their return to Donmar Warehouse productions; Hepburn has previously worked for the company on Mary Stuart and Passion Play, while Milner was among the cast of Parade, directed by A Streetcar Named Desire director Rob Ashford.
Both Daish and Rutherford make their Donmar debuts in this production.
A Streetcar Named Desire, which opens at the intimate theatre in July, is Tennessee Williams’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama about southern belle Blanche DuBois who, out of place in the New Orleans home of her sister and brother-in-law, withdraws from reality.
A Streetcar Named Desire follows the Donmar Warehouse’s current production of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, which stars Gillian Anderson, Toby Stephens, Christopher Eccleston and Tara Fitzgerald.
