Didn’t get the chance to hop your way into the world of Beatrix Potter earlier this year? Fear not: Where Is Peter Rabbit?, the magical musical adventure, is returning to London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket this summer. What’s more, it’ll feature the voices of TV presenter and musician, Myleene Klass, and the Olivier Award-winning performer Griff Rhys Jones.
Where Is Peter Rabbit? will play a limited season at the West End venue between 20 July and 1 September – making it the perfect show for the school holidays.
Of the announcement, Myleene said: “I have always loved and admired the Beatrix Potter books. I grew up reading them and have introduced these classic tales to my children. Peter Rabbit is such a wonderful character – cheeky, mischievous, adventurous and inquisitive. I am thrilled to be lending my voice to this enchanting show for all the family.”
Griff added: “The characters and the strange life of animals are so well observed by Beatrix Potter and not just in her beautiful illustrations. I don’t think we cherish things quite as much as we do children’s books, handed down like golden gems; and it’s remarkable to think that these stories are still so loved.
“It is wonderful that these magical tales of countryside life will be returning to the Theatre Royal Haymarket this summer.”
Inspired by Beatrix Potter’s classic tales, the show began life in Bowness-On-Windermere in 2016 where it enthralled audiences. It made its West End debut at the Haymarket over the Easter holidays this year, and now returns to delight families and the young-at-heart alike.
Where Is Peter Rabbit? utilises beautifully handcrafted puppets, enchanting sets, and joyful music and lyrics by Sir Alan Ayckbourn and Steven Edis respectively to transport you into the world of Beatrix Potter, where everybody’s favourite bunny awaits.
The beloved tales and characters – including Jemima Puddle-Duck, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Mr Tod and more – come to life in a charming production which the whole family can enjoy together.
Where Is Peter Rabbit? is also participating in Kids Week; throughout August, a child aged 16 or under can go free when accompanied by an adult paying full price. Adults can also purchase up to two extra children’s tickets at half price, and there are no booking fees to pay.
