Broadway leading lady and two-time Emmy Award-winning actress Megan Mullally is to make her West End debut in 2010, when she plays a limited season at the Vaudeville theatre in February.
Mullally and her band Supreme Music Program, will play eight performances in London between 16 and 21 February. The dates will mark the first time Mullally has performed outside the US with her band.
Best known for her Emmy Award-winning role as drunken socialite Karen Walker in hit American sitcom Will & Grace, Mullally is also an experienced musical theatre performer. She made her Broadway debut playing Marty in the 1994 revival of Grease, starred opposite Matthew Broderick in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and appeared in Mel Brooks’s Young Frankenstein.
The future could possibly see her TV success combine with her musical theatre prowess, as she is currently working on Karen: The Musical, which will see her Will & Grace character brought to the stage.
With Supreme Music Program, Mullally has recorded three albums – The Sweetheart Break-In, Big As A Berry and Free Again – with songs from each appearing in her Vaudeville theatre show alongside some new numbers.
Megan Mullally And Supreme Music Program plays at the Vaudeville theatre between the closure of current hit revival The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice and the upcoming production of Noël Coward’s Private Lives, which stars Matthew Macfadyen and Kim Cattrall.
