Matt Lucas will lead the National Youth Musical Theatre alongside a host of musical theatre star alumni in a special concert at the Vaudeville theatre on 22 April.
NYMT In Concert With Matt Lucas & Friends celebrates the 35th anniversary of the company which gives thousands of young people aged 11 to 23 the chance to unlock their creative potential and explore their love of musical theatre.
Joining Lucas in the celebration will be West End performers Lara Pulver, Amy Nuttall, Gina Beck, Ian Virgo, Stuart Matthew Price and Mike Jibson alongside the 2012 company, with more star performers to be confirmed.
Lucas joined the company in 1987, describing his experience as “the time of my life… I learnt a great deal as a person and as a performer”. The comedian and actor has gone on to star in Les Misérables and Prick Up Your Ears in the West End, as well as forging a hugely successful television career appearing in series including Shooting Stars and Little Britain.
All proceeds from the concert will go to support the brand new NYMT Bursary Scheme which was launched last month with yet more star alumni including Jude Law, Sheridan Smith and Eddie Redmayne in attendance. To book tickets visit www.nimaxtheatres.com/vaudeville-theatre
