Former I’d Do Anything contestant Niamh Perry is to join the previously announced Ramin Karimloo, Sierra Boggess, Joseph Millson, Liz Robertson and Summer Strallen in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical Love Never Dies.
The full cast for the show, which picks up the story of The Phantom Of The Opera a decade after the finale of Lloyd Webber’s hugely successful musical, also includes Adam Pearce, Jami Reid-Quarrell, Derek Andrews, Dean Chisnall, Helen Dixon, Lucie Downer, Paul Farrell, Charlene Ford, Chris Gage, Lucy van Gasse, Celia Graham, Simon Ray Harvey, Jack Horner, Erin Anna Jameson, Pip Jordan, Jessica Kirton, Louise Madison, Janet Mooney, Colette Morrow, Tam Mutu, Ashley Nottingham, Tom Oakley, Mark Skipper, Jonathan Stewart, Tim Walton and Annette Yeo.
Irish actress Perry, who finished fifth in the reality TV search for a performer to play Nancy in Oliver!, has recently been seen on the London stage playing Sophie in hit Abba musical Mamma Mia!
The 19-year-old, who met composer Lloyd Webber through I’d Do Anything, worked on Love Never Dies during its initial workshops where, she told Official London Theatre, she was in awe of director Jack O’Brien: “He can talk to you for about five minutes and what he would say to you will stay with you forever. I have friends who did the workshop with me who went through three years of drama school and it wasn’t until they worked with someone like Jack O’Brien that it all made sense.”
In Lloyd Webber’s continuation of The Phantom’s story, the haunter of the Paris Opera House has moved to New York’s Coney Island where, amid the bright lights and sideshows of the fairground, he once again contrives to meet the object of his obsession, the singer Christine Daaé.
Before Love Never Dies begins its run at the Adelphi theatre in February 2010, the venue hosts seasonal favourite Christmas With The Rat Pack, bringing audiences an evening of festive entertainment from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.
