Stage star Louise Jameson has been cast in the Park Theatre‘s upcoming revival of Philip Ridley’s Vincent River, co-starring with recent graduate Thomas Mahy in his London stage debut.
Jameson, who is perhaps best known for portraying Dr Who assistant Leela in the Seventies opposite Tom Baker, has often performed on stage with the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company, and recently starred in the 60th anniversary touring production of The Mousetrap. She now co-stars with Mahy, a recent graduate of Drama Centre, London.
Vincent River is a modern classic by Ridley, and was a huge success when it premiered at the Hampstead Theatre in 2001, going on to become a smash-hit in the West End in 2007. Thrilling, heartbreaking and darkly humorous by turns, Vincent River is a powerful exploration of hate crime – and society’s need to crush ‘difference’.
