Anyone who knows Big – either the musical or the film – knows the iconic Big piano dance. Anyone who’s visited FAO Schwarz in New York might even have had a go jumping about on it. But we wanted to know how hard it was to actually play a tune on it.
We teamed up with Big The Musical and ECCO shoes to find out. With help from Tilly from Mousetrap Theatre Projects and Offical London Theatre’s very own Jess, who you’ll recognise from the West End Round Up, we caught up with choreographers Gemma Fuller and Gary Murphy, and cast members Felix Warren who plays young Josh and Theo Wilkinson who plays Billy. They showed us how it’s done!
Based on the 1980 cult classic film. Big The Musical stars Jay McGuiness, Kimberly Walsh, Wendi Peters and Matthew Kelly in a heart-warming tale of a boy who gets stuck in a grown-up’s body when his wish to grow up comes true.
This brand new musical is only on at the Dominion Theatre until 2 November, so grab your tickets while you can!
