The first performance of the run will be on the 2 July, and the smash-hit production will play a limited 10-week season through to 6 September.
The multi-award-winning musical had humble beginnings as a small school concert, but Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has become one of the world’s best known and best loved musicals. It has been performed hundreds of thousands of times in over 80 countries across the globe. Over the years Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has received a whopping 6 Tony nominations and 7 Olivier Award nominations.
The show is full of songs that you’ll be itching to sing along to, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door To Me, Jacob and Sons, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go Go Go Joseph.
A story told entirely by song, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat tells the story of Joseph, Jacob’s favourite of his 12 sons. After his brothers turn on him and sell him into slavery, Joseph ingratiates himself with Potiphar, an Egyptian noble, but is imprisoned after resisting the advances of Potiphar’s wife.
While in prison, Joseph discovers he has the ability to interpret dreams and when word gets out he finds himself in front of the Pharoah himself. As he becomes the Pharoah’s right-hand man, and struggles to solve the famine sweeping across Egypt, he is reunited with the brothers who betrayed him.
Casting hasn’t yet been announced for this production Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic musical, but we do know that Laurence Connor will return to direct.
