Jest End, the tongue-in-cheek celebration of the West End’s most popular musicals, returns to its original home this autumn, when it runs at Jermyn Street theatre from 17 November to 20 December.
Devised by We Will Rock You star Garry Lake, the production gives its own special twist to some of Theatreland’s favourite musicals, including The Phantom Of The Opera, Sister Act, Jersey Boys, Wicked, Oliver! and Les Misérables.
The popular parody of London’s musical theatre mega hits has previously played sell-out seasons at the Leicester Square theatre and New Players theatre.
This new incarnation of the show features a quartet of young musical performers; Jodie Jacobs (Little Shop Of Horrors, Fame), Yvette Robinson (Evita, The Woman In White), Stuart Matthew Price (Parade, Notes In Heels), and Chris Thatcher (Avenue Q, Our House).
Jest End will be the second show to take a loving sideswipe at some of the most popular shows in theatre history, following American import Forbidden Broadway, which left audiences laughing at the Menier Chocolate Factory during the summer.
