New musical comedy The Girls will be making its West End premiere in January, with music by pop icon Gary Barlow, and lyrics and book by playwright – and the original film’s screenwriter – Tim Firth.
Based on the 2003 film, The Girls is the real life story of a Women’s Institute group who decide to fundraise for a local hospital by posing for a raunchy-but-tasteful nude calendar, inadvertently making the group media sensations.
We caught up with some of the inspirational women 18 years on from when they first bared all, and chatted about body confidence, seeing their story on stage, and how this incredible moment changed their lives.
