Everybody, at some point, has wished they could soar through the air at will, be it to shorten the morning commute, avoid traffic, pop off on holiday, or just for the sheer thrill of it.
And while it’s not exactly through supernatural means, the cast of Sally Cookson’s acclaimed production of JM Barrie’s beloved text, Peter Pan, have been doing just that. Rehearsing for the eagerly anticipated Christmas show, which begins playing at the National Theatre from 17 November, the cast’s audacity and head for heights has certainly been put to the test while engaging in a spot of aerial acrobatics.
Telling the tale of the leader of the Lost Boys, who loses his shadow during a visit to London, the exciting show follows Peter Pan and Wendy in the wonderful world of Neverland. Along the way, the duo meet Tinker Bell the fairy, Tiger Lily, and the fierce Captain Hook, exploring the possibilities and pain of growing up in a riotous tale of magic and mischief.
