Last week the Almeida theatre announced that its Artistic Director, Michael Attenborough, will step down early next year.
Such a changing of the guard is full of excitement and possibilities, but also underscored with sadness at the impending end of an era that has been enjoyable, intriguing and has always had Official London Theatre eager to hop on the Underground and head for Islington, safe in the knowledge that under Attenborough the theatre had a distinctly impressive hit rate.
As we are feeling nostalgic for the decade Attenborough has spent at the famous North London venue, we’ve put together a gallery featuring some of our favourite shows of his tenure.
