The leading ladies of hit new musical The Bodyguard, Heather Headley and Debbie Kurup, will add their estimable vocal tones to The Night Of 1000 Stars, which will be staged at the Royal Albert Hall on 5 May.
Headley and Kurup join a line-up that includes former Chicago performers Denise Van Outen and Tiffany Graves, Wicked‘s Katie Rowley Jones, Kiss Me, Kate leading man Alex Bourne and Broadway star Kristen Beth Williams, who is soon to join the cast of West End hit Top Hat, in the evening of musical celebration held in aid of the Caron Keating Foundation.
The theme for this year’s Night Of 1000 Stars, which will also feature London theatre’s Ian Knauer, Marcus Lovett, Shona Lindsay and Tabitha Webb, is the work of US producer and director Hal Prince, so audiences can expect excerpts from shows including The Phantom Of The Opera, Evita, Fiddler On The Roof, Sweeney Todd, Cabaret and more.
Speaking about the support given by the evening of musical entertainment, Gloria Hunniford, mother of TV presenter Caron Keating who lost her life to cancer, said: “We receive no government support and our foundation, in the name of our gorgeous Caron, is entirely reliant on generous people coming together to raise funds and awareness of the scourge of cancer. We are so grateful to everyone for supporting the Caron Keating Foundation. Thank you all.”
