Haydn Gwynne, Anna Skellern and Jerome Pradon are to join the previously announced Tamsin Greig in the UK premiere of new musical Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown.
The production, which is based on Pedro Almodóvar’s famous film, runs at the Playhouse Theatre from 18 December.
The trio of actresses portray women struggling to take control of their own lives in a liberated Spain in the musical written by David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane, the team behind current West End hit Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
Gwynne, who plays Lucia, has received acclaim for her performances in London productions including Billy Elliot The Musical, The Audience and Richard III opposite Kevin Spacey.
Pradon, like Gwynne, has an impressive list of West End credits to his name, including Les Misérables, Miss Saigon and The Lord Of The Rings.
By contrast, Skellern is a relative newcomer to the London stage. Though she previously appeared in Holding The Man at the Trafalgar Studios, the Australian actress is better known for her screen appearances in shows including Parade’s End and Lip Service.
Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown opens at the Playhouse Theatre following the high-profile production of David Mamet’s Speed-The-Plow, which stars Hollywood leading lady Lindsay Lohan, London stage regular Nigel Lindsay and former star of The West Wing, Richard Schiff.
