Shakespeare’s Globe is offering children aged 8-11 the chance to explore its productions through special Childsplay workshops this summer.
The workshops, which run in conjunction with the Globe’s productions of Macbeth, Henry VIII and The Merry Wives Of Windsor, are programmed alongside specific matinees, meaning parents can attend a performance of the play while their children participate in the workshop.
The sessions are designed to give children an active introduction to the play their parents are watching. In addition to storytelling and art activities, the workshops allow children to join the groundlings in the Globe yard to watch 15 minutes of the play.
Tickets for the workshops cost £12.50 and all dates and times can be found on Shakespeare’s Globe’s website.
This year’s season at the Bankside venue is entitled Kings And Rogues and also includes new productions of Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, and new plays Anne Boleyn and Bedlam.
The season opens on 23 April with Macbeth.
