As part of Shakespeare’s Globe’s forthcoming Globe To Globe project next spring, the South Bank venue is offering families the chance to get involved.
During the Easter holidays (3-14 April) families will have the chance to experience the magical mayhem of A Midsummer Night’s Dream through 60 minutes of storytelling, puppetry and fabulous fairies in the Globe’s Dream Space. Sessions run at 11:00 and 14:00 and are suitable for children aged five and above.
The Globe’s schools programme, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank, is also giving away over 14,000 tickets to students from London schools for a specially commissioned production of A Midsummer Nights Dream, with many also having the opportunity to take part in bespoke workshops before the performance. For those not lucky enough to be one of the 14,000 students, the Globe are putting on free public performances on 2 and 3 March.
Later in the month 500 students from Southwark schools will take to the Globe stage to perform an ensemble production of Romeo And Juliet that has been rehearsed through the Globe’s flagship community project Our Theatre.
