Ghost Stories, the West End’s latest evening of frightening fun, has proved such a hit with fans of things that go bump in the night that it has extended its run in the capital.
The evening of horrific entertainment, which had been booking until 7 November, will now run at the Duke of York’s theatre until 19 February.
Written by League Of Gentlemen scribe Jeremy Dyson and actor, magician and Derren Brown collaborator Andy Nyman, Ghost Stories’s tale of three linked supernatural happenings had audiences screaming with both fear and pleasure when it ran at the Lyric Hammersmith late last year.
Speaking about its West End run, which began in June, creators Dyson and Nyman said: “Ghost Stories has now terrified nearly 95,000 people since its first sell out seasons in Liverpool and Hammersmith and we are so excited to be extending the run until February. We’ve had amazing feedback from audience members and critics and now lots more people will have the chance to enjoy the shocks, scares and laughs at the show.”
The theatrical fright-fest, which stars Nyman alongside Nicholas Burns, David Cardy and Ryan Gage, is also offering a special Halloween treat for fans of theatre that will make your skin crawl. An extra midnight show has been added on Saturday 30 October, so that the production can be performed in the deepest, darkest moments of Halloween morning.
“We are extremely excited to be doing the special Halloween midnight show which will be even creepier than usual,” the creepy show’s creators commented. “The whole of Halloween week is going to be great for us as so many people will be looking for a fun night out where they are scared senseless and Ghost Stories fits the bill perfectly.
