The first production images have been released of Hamilton in the West End’s Victoria Palace Theatre – and boy, does it look good in The Room Where It Happens.
Starring the likes of West End debutant Jamael Westman as eponymous figure Alexander Hamilton, along with Christine Allado (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), Rachelle Ann Go (Eliza Hamilton), Giles Terera (Aaron Burr) and Michael Jibson (King George), it’s an exciting first glimpse for sure into one of most eagerly anticipated musicals of the year. Take a look at the first production shots below.
Hamilton is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the very foundations of the America we know today. The score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway – the story of America then, as told by America now.
With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and direction from Thomas Kail, Hamilton has taken the world by storm and, from the looks of things above, it’s now the West End’s turn, as the show opens the newly renovated Victoria Palace Theatre tonight (Wednesday 6 December).
Theatregoers looking to see the show recently discovered details of the daily £10 ticket lottery.
