Heralded stage and screen actress Felicity Dean (The Coast Of Utopia, National; older Elizabeth I in the 2017 Channel 5 docu-drama) will portray HRH The Princess Margaret in upcoming Park Theatre drama A Princess Undone.
Dean, whose other screen credits include The Legend Of King Arthur and The Last Of The Blonde Bombshells, will star opposite rising young actor Alexander Knox (It Is Easy To Be Dead) as Tristan Peel, the play’s author Richard Stirling as the Queen Mother’s butler William Tallon (aka ‘Backstairs Billy’), and Patrick Toomey (RSC) as the infamous John Bindon.
A Princess Undone draws audiences into events at Kensington Palace in 1993. Once acclaimed as the Diana of her day, HRH The Princess Margaret has a final chance to be of service. Acquiring sensational letters from Charles and Diana, she means to burn them all. But there are other papers, relating to Margaret herself, and when an ex-gangster admirer returns from her past, the Queen’s sister has the choice to make or break her family yet again.
With Margaret’s story once again illuminated by Netflix’s acclaimed global hit series, The Crown, her story has re-emerged as one of the most controversial and enigmatic tales of the Royal Family. A Princess Undone – inspired by actual events – aims to shed new light on the last real princess.
A Princess Undone Tuesday 20 February – Saturday 17 March at the Park Theatre, directed by Jonny Kelly.
