It’s not just witches that are magical; we can make treats appear out of thin air too. Abracadabra! It’s the first images of Jennifer DiNoia and Savannah Stevenson together in Wicked!
US star DiNoia joined the London production at the end of last month, replacing Kerry Ellis in the role of the misunderstood, green-skinned witch. But she’s far from new to the hit musical having been associated with Wicked in North America for eight years.
Stevenson, as the tiara-sporting Glinda, is on her third Elphaba of the year, having seen in 2014 opposite Willemijn Verkaik, before performing with Ellis and now DiNoia, who’ll stay in the role until the end of January when current alternate Elphaba Emma Hatton takes on broom flying duties.
Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel, Wicked tells the previously untold story of the witches of Oz. If you always thought the Wicked Witch of the West was film’s scariest villain you’re in for a surprise, as Wicked tells of an unusual schoolgirl, excluded by the popular kids because of the colour of her skin, and how, despite her best efforts, she becomes perceived as wicked.
If you’ve not seen DiNoia and Stevenson together yet, take a look at Matt Crockett’s new pictures.
If you have seen them, were entranced and would like to hear more from these two fabulous leading ladies, we will be chatting to them live as part of a fantastic afternoon tea experience at Rosewood London on 27 November. Find out more here.
