Immersive theatrical dining experience, Dinner At The Twits, will be offering guests a host of disgusting cocktails and canapés, including a rather odious bespoke beer.
Brought to you by the team behind the Olivier Award-nominated production Alice’s Adventures Underground, and culinary wizards Bompas & Barr, Dinner At The Twits promises an utterly gruesome gastronomic experience, with further menu details announced today.
Top of the billing is Mr Twit’s Odious Ale, a bespoke beer brewed with yeast swabbed from Roald Dahl’s very own writing chair. Further to this foul refreshment, guests can look forward to a banquet including Glowing Hug Tight Glue (no, we don’t know what it is either), Bloater Paste, Treasures of the Compost Heap and Bird Pie – Your Night of a Thousand Claws. Puddings are described as “perilous”.
Commenting on this cursed culinary cornucopia, Harry Parr, of Bompas & Parr, said: “A surprising number of our previous activations have been inspired by Roald Dahl in some way or other…so it’s been a delight to work directly with the Roald Dahl Estate and, indirectly, one of the best loved storytellers of all time, in his centenary year.
“By incorporating wild yeast cultured from inside Roald Dahl’s writing chair in our beer to accompany Dinner At The Twits, it feels like we are injecting his own dark humour and effervescent sense of fun into the brew.”
Those too timid to experience dinner with the terrible Twits can enjoy tantalising tinctures in the Muggle-Wumps’ Downside Up Cocktail Cavern.
Dinner At The Twits runs at The Vaults, Waterloo from 4 September – 4 October. You can buy tickets through us here.
