Stephen Sondheim is infamous in musical theatre as a purveyor of catchy but difficult-to-sing songs (see: “Your Fault”, “Franklin Shepherd Inc.”, etc.). But perhaps his most challenging of all, “(Not) Getting Married Today”, is pulled off with aplomb by Jonathan Bailey in the Marianne Elliott’s revival of Company at the Gielgud Theatre night after night.
So could the rest of Jonathan’s cast-mates – the likes of Rosalie Craig, Patti LuPone and more – repeat his feat at the opening night party? The answer is emphatically “Yes” – if your name is Patti LuPone. See what happened when we challenged them all below…
West End theatregoers are lining up Side By Side to see LuPone, Craig and more in this new gender-bending version of Stephen Sondheim’s marital musical comedy, Company.
The smash-hit show recently announced a huge extension to its run – it’s now booking up until 30 March 2019.
