It is in diamond thefts, as it is in life: if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. And the ham-fisted heist merchants at The Comedy About A Bank Robbery last night (3 September) celebrated 1000 hilarious – if not altogether smooth – attempts on the West End stage.
The occasion saw a celebration of the mischief and madness which has reigned supreme at the Criterion Theatre since 2016.
But there’s still plenty more swag to be had through the show – The Comedy About A Bank Robbery is currently booking until April 2019.
Mischief Theatre’s smash-and-grab hit The Comedy About A Bank Robbery is a fast, fabulous comedy caper. In summer 1958, Minneapolis City Bank has been entrusted with a priceless diamond. An escaped convict is dead set on pocketing the gem with the help of his screwball sidekick, trickster girlfriend… and the maintenance man. In a town where everyone’s a crook, who will end up bagging the jewel?
Mischief Theatre was founded in 2008 by graduates of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and has grown to create hilarious shows including The Play That Goes Wrong.
