The Lyric Hammersmith is to host a brand new show for children this Christmas about two toys who fall off the back of Santa’s sleigh.
A collaboration with Pins & Needles theatre company, Holly And Ivan’s Christmas Adventure runs in the Lyric Studio from 1 to 31 December.
Suitable for children under six, the show tells the story of two brave little toys who tumble from Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve. Not wanting their intended owners to wake up to no presents, they set off on a mission to find the stockings they belong to.
Holly And Ivan’s Christmas Adventure – which runs alongside the Lyric’s main house pantomime, Aladdin – completes an autumn/winter line-up of children’s shows that also includes half-term adventure The Owl Who Was Afraid of The Dark (25 to 30 October), an adaptation of Jill Tomlinson’s children’s book by Blunderbus theatre company.
As always, the Lyric Hammersmith presents a programme of Saturday and Sunday shows by visiting companies including Garlic theatre, Banyan theatre, Theatre Alibi and Theatre Of Widdershins. Little Angel puppet theatre company will visit on 26 and 27 November with its Royal Shakespeare Company collaboration The Magician’s Daughter.
Weekend shows are followed by Messy Play sessions, which invite children to get creative, while monthly Family Sundays offer further fun activities for children, while parents can relax in the café.
