The team at Chickenshed has plenty of stories for children up its sleeves for children this autumn as its hugely popular Tales From The Shed returns in a busy season for the North London theatre.
Every Friday and Saturday morning from 4 September to 31 October, miniature theatre fans from newborns to six-year-olds will be invited to join much loved characters including Can-Can the beautiful bird and The Things That Goes Blurgh for an hour of interactive fun.
A regular fixture in Chickenshed’s line-up of family offerings, Tales From The Shed features colourful puppets and live songs to engage children in a vibrant theatrical experience they are actively encouraged to join the performers in creating.
If all that interactive frivolity has your youngsters hankering for more hands on fun, the theatre is running its popular Saturday Shed Workshops from 12 September to 31 October, offering five to 12-year-olds the chance to develop their performance skills.
Led by Chickenshed staff, each workshop explores movement, drama, singing and story making through a different theme, and is accessible for children of all abilities.
If you’re looking for something to do as a family, Chickenshed has that covered too. On 4 October its annual autumn fundraising day, Chickenshed’s Family Fun Day, returns promising to be “bigger and better” than ever before.
Running from 11:00 to 16:00 at the theatre’s home in Southgate, activities including a Fun Run, Toddler Charge – which probably sounds more dangerous than it is – interactive games, fancy dress competition, appearances from Tales From The Shed characters and a musical performance.
