Full casting has been announced for the fantastical, songtastical, bombastical Seussical, which opens at the Arts theatre this Christmas.
Kirsty Marie Ayers, Jessica Parker, Clark Devlin, Natalie Green, Joe Morrow, Philip Scutt, Joe McCourt, Mathew Waters, Amy Punter, Tanya Shields and Jennifer Low will join the previously announced David Hunter in the family show.
Playing from 4 December to 6 January, Seussical is a colourful musical set in the world of Dr Seuss and features music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, the Tony Award-winning team behind Ragtime The Musical, and a sprinkling of eccentric comedy by Monty Python’s Eric Idle.
Audiences will meet characters including Horton The Elephant, who discovers an entire world floating on a speck of dust, and Jojo, a Who who inhabits this magical world, as they try to save Who from a world of naysayers and dangers. If that wasn’t tricky enough, Horton has also been left alone to guard an egg that has been abandoned by none other than Mayzie La Bird.
Seussical opens at the Arts theatre following the transfer of Trevor Nunn’s production of All That Fall, starring theatrical legends Eileen Atkins and Michael Gambon, which plays from 6 to 24 November.
