She will go to the ball! Carrie Hope Fletcher has been announced as the title role of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella and we couldn’t be more excited.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much-anticipated new musical will begin previews on 28 August this year at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Tickets don’t go on sale ‘til 20 March, but with Carrie at the helm we’re even more certain than ever that they’ll absolutely fly off the shelves.

In case you’ve missed Carrie’s comet-like rise in the London theatre world, here’s a quick recap! Starting as a child actor on TV and in the West End, Carrie has the rare accolade of playing Éponine in Les Mis as both a child and an adult!
Since her early breakout, Carrie has appeared in musicals all around the UK and the West End including The War Of The Worlds, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Addams Family. Most recently, she took the leading role in Heathers: The Musical, and has now found her way back to Les Mis, where she’s currently playing Fantine in the newly staged production at the Sondheim Theatre.

Carrie’s won 3 WhatsOnStage Awards, but acting isn’t her only talent. She’s written children’s fiction, has a huge social media following and YouTube channel, and sings and writes her own music – sometimes with her brother, Tom Fletcher, who you might remember from McFly!
This new musical production of the classic fairytale promises to completely reinvent the story you know and love. It’s based on an original idea from Emerald Fennel, the Emmy Award-nominated scriptwriter of Killing Eve. Lyrics are by the award-winning David Zippel, who wrote for City Of Angels and The Goodbye Girl on stage as well as the classic Disney films Hercules and Mulan!
Cinderella will be directed by Laurence Connor and choreography will be by JoAnn Hunter, who worked on School Of Rock and the Palladium’s Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
