Following the announcement that original lead cast member Andrew Polec is rocking out of Bat Out Of Hell The Musical on 1 September, Jordan Luke Gage has been revealed as his replacement.
Jordan originally made his West End debut as Hoffman in the hit Jim Steinman musical, but has recently been seen at the Dominion Theatre performing as an alternate Strat to Andrew.
Following the announcement, Jordan expressed his delight at landing the pivotal role: “Being part of this incredible show and company has been a life-changing experience for me and I have learned so much from working with the extraordinary talent that is Andrew Polec.
“I feel honoured and humbled to be given the chance to sing Jim Steinman and Meatloaf’s stunning score and to work with the wonderful people who make up the Bat family; the company, the production and creative teams, the crew and, of course, the fans. Rock and Roll dreams DO come true!”
Simon Gordon, who performs as Esquivel in the show, will continue to be the alternate Strat.
Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical wowed critics and public alike as it toured internationally last year, and has been seen by over 650,000 people to date. It began previews at its latest home – the West End’s legendary Dominion Theatre – on Monday 2 April of this year, and is currently booking until 5 January 2019.
For the stage musical, the legendary Steinman has incorporated iconic songs from the Bat Out Of Hell albums, including You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth, I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That), and that rollicking titular track.
Bat Out Of Hell is currently participating in Kids Week; throughout August, a child aged 16 or under can go free when accompanied by an adult paying full price. Adults can also purchase up to two extra children’s tickets at half price, and there are no booking fees to pay.
