We’ve still got a few weeks left of the summer holidays and you’ve already run out of things to do with the kids. Don’t wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweats desperately trying to think up activities, we’ve done it for you!
Thanks to Kids Week, you can treat your youngun to not only a theatre show but an exclusive workshop or Q&A. And the best bit? Your child won’t just get free theatre tickets when accompanied by a full paying adult, the show’s activity will be free, too! Wicked, plus technical Q&A
Ever wanted to know how those monkeys fly or how Elphaba actually defies gravity? Well here’s your chance to find out… oh, and so can your child. After the show on 29 August, members of the Wicked production team will take to the stage to answer your child’s questions about how the show is made and executed. And remember, if you have more than one child, you can get a second child ticket for half price so your other little one won’t be green with envy when you get home.

Adult supervision required?: Yes, the Q&A happens straight after the show which a parent/guardian must attend with the child/group of children.

National Backstage Tour
If you’ve already taken advantage of Kids Week and your ankle-biter has seen enough theatre (for now), then why not skip the show and take them on a tour of the National Theatre instead? Explore the backstage, discover props and even try on costumes during this brilliant tour that takes place every Thursday. Plus, for every paying adult (tickets are £13), up to three children can go for free!

Globe Theatre Family Tour
Help your child discover Shakespeare with this tour of the Globe Theatre. Led by the knowledgable guides of the Globe, you and your child will see Elizabethan London come to life as the guides tell stories designed to delight and disgust! The tour’s recommended for kids aged 7-11 but older and younger kids are welcome. Each paying adult (tickets are £17) can bring one kid for free and each additional kid will get half-price tickets (£5 down from £10). There are loads of days and times available so the best thing to do is to check out our activities page to find a tour that suits you!
